Some months ago when I was at the beach in Oregon our little group enjoyed time together working on several jigsaw puzzles. As we would begin each one, and looked at all the pieces spread out on the table, the task before us always seemed monumental. With all these small pieces how would our picture ever come together? As we began it occurred to us, start with the edges, the frame. As we assembled the framework, the body of the picture slowly began to make sense and come together.
In our personal lives we often ask the question, what is the frame I have assembled for my life? Is it one of fear, worry, a feeling of separateness from God, and the belief that we are walking this life alone and without help? Or is the frame we are assembling one of faith, belief, trust in the presence of Almighty God, and belief that we walk hand in hand with the Christ? From our framework, our center begins to take shape. From our framework we not only begin to see the picture more clearly, but it begins to have proportion, the pieces fit effortlessly in their proper places and one part of the picture flows seamlessly to the next. The good news is we understand to start with our frame. The better news is we can change the frame in this very moment from one that doesn’t work, to one that does. We can change it to begin a new picture of how our life is to look. And the still better news is we don’t have to do it alone. Seated at the table with us, creating our picture, is the presence of God. Guiding us to chose the right pieces, and lighting our way to see more clearly.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. Be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.” (John 16: 33)

We live our lives one thought at a time. Let each of those thoughts really count for something wonderful.
Please join us each Sunday at 5:30 PM in our Social Hall for our Contemporary worship and Praise service, “Acts of God.” Come as you are and enjoy an hour of great music from our wonderful band and singers, inspiring messages and good fellowship.
Also, join me on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 8 PM for an hour of guided and silent meditation, reflection, affirmation and prayer. As always, we will share communion together. Everyone is welcome.
