“When he entered the house, the blind men came to Jesus; and Jesus said to them, ‘Do you believe that I am able to do this?’ They said to him, ‘Yes, Lord.’ Then he touched their eyes and said, ‘According to your faith let it be done to you.’”   (Matthew 9:28-29)

Jesus’ statement to the blind men of  “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” has great significance. Without our first trusting in the ability of the Christ presence, no miracles could ever happen.   It is in our belief that we begin to actively experience our prayer life.  It has been said, and I agree, that we live in our thoughts.  Our thoughts can send us soaring forth to do great and mighty acts, or they can stop us right in our tracks.  God is available to us, as close as our very next thought.  As we turn our thoughts to the promises of God, trusting in his love, grace and presence, as well as trusting in His ability to answer our prayers, we make a powerful declaration of faith.  Christ is there, awaiting our acknowledgement of Him.  When we do, pray believing, and trust that we will recognize the answers when they come, we open the space for miraculous things to happen.  Remember, so often the answers we seek come in ways we had not expected, so praying as part of our prayer, “and I recognize my answers as they come,” is also a powerful declaration our faith.  God may have even greater things in store for you than you ever imagined as you pray.  So be open to see the new, experience the miracles, and share the joy.

I have been out of town for the last week, so to all of you I wish a happy and wonderful New Year.

Affirmation:  “Miracles are everywhere.  I see them, because I first believed.”

 Rev. Jefferson Beeker

We live our lives one thought at a time.  Let each of those thoughts really count for something wonderful.

Be prepared to change your thinking and change your life.  Please join us each Sunday at 5:30 PM in our Social Hall at First Christian Church, North Hollywood, CA for our Contemporary Celebration and Praise service. Come as you are and enjoy an hour of great music from our wonderful band and singers, inspiring messages and good fellowship. Those things in life that you have been seeking have also been seeking you. Now is a good time to receive them.

Also, join me on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 8 PM for an hour of guided and silent meditation, reflection, affirmation and prayer.  As always, we will share communion together.  Everyone is welcome.
