It’s often a challenge to try and live our life in the present moment. Those present moments seem to fly by so quickly that before we know it our thoughts are back in the past or we again find ourselves worrying about the future.

It’s great to reflect on the past for we can learn from our previous experiences. It’s also nice to plan for our future. But how often do we dwell on things past, or worry about the future, at the expense of enjoying, and living fully, this present moment? Each present moment will only happen once, and to miss it could mean missing a real blessing.

How much delight God must take in our trusting in His promises of life when we take each step knowing we walk with the Creator. Being in this present moment we affirm the abundance of life, in all areas of our life, for we do indeed believe it is God’s good pleasure to give us the Kingdom. The gift is given; it is up to us, in this present moment, and using our freewill, to accept it. God is always far more willing to give, than we are to receive.

This present moment, and the next, and the next, are golden, they are blessed, they are anointed by God for us to experience fully. Now is the time.

Blessed are those who trust in the Lord, whose trust is in the Lord. They shall be like a tree planted by water, sending out its roots by the stream. It shall not fear when heat comes, and its leaves shall stay green; in the year of drought it is not anxious, and it does not cease to bear fruit.                                                                                                                     (Jeremiah 17: 7-8)

Affirmation: I enjoy each present moment as it unfolds before me and in doing so experience fully the presence of God.
