I receive several daily devotions each morning in my email. They usually come in a particular order, and even if they don’t, it seems I still like to read them in that order because, for me, they seem to have the perfect flow of thought. Each devotional is independent of the other, so, to the best of my knowledge, one does not know what the other is writing.

Recently one morning it seemed that a particular devotional kept showing up again as unread in the email. I had read it; several times as a matter of fact because it seemed to really speak to me that morning. At first I was a bit annoyed that it kept showing up again and wanting me to read it. Then I had a thought, maybe I am supposed to read it again and really get this message because right now I really need to understand these thoughts.

Sometimes it seems we really need to get a message and so circumstances keep showing up in our lives until that message, and what we are to do next, is really understood by us. Once we understand the message we can then move forward with the promise that divine inspiration has touched our thinking and paved the way for something exciting to enter our experience.

I think about divine order. God’s order for the universe, but also for our lives. One particular thing must happen before the next and the next. We are meant to crawl before we can walk, to drink before we can eat solid food.

Our lives unfold in a seamless progression of God’s blessings and in God’s perfect timing. As we wait upon the Lord, and this timing, we can have the assurance that our blessings are forever flowing to us and God has everything in our life perfectly in control. Finally, we can relax into God’s divine order knowing how much more smoothly our lives seem to be.

“I hereby command you: Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”     (Joshua 1:9)

Affirmation: “God’s divine and perfect order is moving through my life right now. I need not worry, I need only be grateful.”
