Not everything Jesus did, preached or taught was recorded in the Bible. That would not be possible. But did you think that those other things (the ones not recorded) were not as important, so they didn’t make the cut?

I imagine that as Jesus walked about the land and encountered people that he touched more lives than we could possibly ever count. Think of the 5000 plus fed on the hillside. Each of those lives were changed in a different and powerful way. Each of those individuals went on to lead lives connected to a power so much greater than they had ever before experienced. If just a fraction of those people went on to do as Jesus commanded them think how many lives were altered forever?

We read a story of a one woman who touched the hem of Jesus’ garment as he walked by her and she was instantly healed. How many other people may have touched that garment, or brushed up against his arm in the crowd and were changed forever? We don’t read those stories in the Bible, but we can know they are written in the book of God’s kingdom on earth.

Some stories were written and we know them, others not. Are they all-important? Absolutely. They are all important because Jesus is important. And Jesus is still doing things in your life today. He sent us an advocate because his physical presence could not be with us always. That advocate, that lovely Spirit, is available to act in and through and as you at every moment. You get to decide if your story will include the life changing possibilities of the Christ taking you to places you never before imagined. The story continues and one of its major players is you.

“Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.”   (John 21:25)

Affirmation: “Jesus and I write the book of my life together. We are great collaborators in all things.”
