Blessed are those who trust in the Lord, whose trust is in the Lord.”   (Jeremiah 17:7)

There are certain realities of life that often come to slap us in the face. When that happens for us all we can seem to dwell upon in those moments is, “this is where I am right now. This is what I am experiencing. This is what is happening around and in me right now.” We feel what we feel and often that is not what we would desire to be our experience. Our life is feeling inadequate and we need a shot of something to get us back in the direction we wish to go. So, we often ask, where do I go from here?

Our scripture says blessed are those who trust in the Lord.

It may seem easy to say trust in the Lord for often it is difficult for us to do so because we are so overwhelmed by our current reality. I read a wonderful meditation technique that I think can help us to clear our thoughts and bring us to a greater understanding and awareness of God’s presence.

Sit quietly in a comfortable position. Do your best to let go of all outside mental distractions. Being conscious of your breathing in and your breathing out, imagine a giant wave of God’s Light and Spirit washing over you. See this wave of Light/Spirit wash over and through you and as it does so it brings to you a newness of energy and a vibration of perfect love. Do this everyday for five to ten minutes. Go into this meditation with an intention of what you would like to experience. Perhaps it’s peace, healing, love, reconciliation, abundance, whatever it is you need, and see this wave of Light Spirit bringing a greater awareness of those things into your life as you also let go and release all that would deny that truth within you.

This meditation is great to shift our thinking away from the negative thoughts that separate us from God’s presence and to re-focus our thinking and trust back to the one through whom all things are possible.

This Spiritual Light re-ignites our trust that God is blessing us abundantly with newness of purpose, grace, clarity and peace.  In this trust and Light we have entered into the sanctuary of God’s presence where all we need is revealed in beautiful ways that we can understand.   In this beautiful sanctuary of God/Light we are at last back home.

Affirmation: “My trust is in God’s presence with me at this and every moment.”
