I will give them one heart, and put a new spirit within them. They shall be my people, and I will be their God. (Ezekiel 11:19-20)

Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?”  (John 11: 40)

In John 11 we have a powerful story of Jesus raising his friend Lazarus from the dead and in the Hebrew Scriptures book of Ezekiel the prophet has an amazing vision of dry bones being revived to new life. Both of these stories give us examples of God’s abundant love for each and every one of us. We are reminded here that resurrection can change our life today through our ongoing relationship with Spirit/God. This wonderful Spirit is now and forever right where we are at every moment.

Spirit/God knows each of us intimately and loves us with an unconditional love that reaches out to bless to us this day and always. Our hope for experiencing this wonderful new life is found in our willingness to accept this love. Resurrection is our promise of God for our life today. Not on some unknown date at a later time if we do all the right things, live a life by some dogmatic doctrine created by humans, tic all the right boxes on some fictional book of life, but for our life as it is lived today, right now. God longs to bless us, to bless you. Just as you are and just as you are not. The spiritual journey that we are each walking is anointed at every moment, through our successes and through our failures. It is blessed even in our times of doubt when fear can overcome us and we have momentary feelings of being forsaken. This Resurrection Spirit of God is always with us to remind us we are never alone. It is there to remind us that it is always reaching out to bring us back to the truth of our citizenship in God’s kingdom found right here on earth.

God has given us with a powerful gift of free choice, one that will always produce for us the direction of our thinking and the direction of our belief in tomorrow. This gift of Spirit is continually available to us and when we make those decisions and choices that lead us to places we would rather not experience we can always make another choice. We can always choose again and again, each time allowing our awareness of Spirit to grow within us.   There is never any condemnation in God, but rather a gentle offering to us of an opportunity to begin again. At every moment we are being offered the gift, offered an opportunity to experience that loving shift in our recognition of Spirit’s presence that brings us back into seeing a new and better truth.

As you reach out to connect with Spirit/God know that Spirit/God is reaching out to connect with you. In this beautiful relationship we are changed, our surroundings are changed, our community is changed and our world can be changed. What may have seemed dormant and lost is revived to live again.

Affirmation: “Thank you Spirit/God for the resurrection Spirit and lives, moves, breaths and thrives with me today and always. Thank you for new choices, new opportunities and for new life.”
